Day 03 at Life Change Recovery Center: Baka ng Baka

Ika-21 ng Disyembre 2009 (Lunes)

Lunes, unang araw na kami ang naghanda ng mga activities para sa mga residents. Araw din na nameet namin muli ang ibang students from New Era Univ. na sina Elaine, Rene at Jean, samantalang mga bagong kakilala mula sa UST na sina Lala and Gayle. Bilang mga paghahanda sa mga activities, hinati kami sa dalawang grupo: Morning at Afternoon Session. Ako, ay napunta sa afternoon session. Dahil ito ang aking unang beses na magfafacilitate para sa mga residente ng LCRC may fear at hesitations if I can do it. But of course, siguro ganun talaga kapag una, hindi pa din namin masyadong nakakasalamuha ang mga residents at kumbaga we still have to break the ice at magbuild ng rapport sa kanila.

The morning session was great, using paper, yung activity facilitated by Lala. And in the afternoon, I'm one who facilitated the energizer called: Baka ng Baka. Ang kulit ni Kuya A. , ang hyper niya that afternoon. In fairness to the residents they were all cooperative and participative throughout the session. When you asked them, they were giving good points and good answers.

After the afternoon session, Sir Al gave us feedbacks, and overall our first day was okay. Yun nga lang daw with regards to treating the residents may tendency na ituring silang parang bata which is hindi dapat because adults na sila. And, some residents can give answers up to emotional level and expect na may mga magbiibigay up to that kind of answers while others naman can give up to cognitive level only.

Mayroon pa lang bagong resident si K. I'm looking forward to know the residents and ma-memorize ko name nila dahil napapagpalit ko pangalan nila, halos nagiging magkamukha na kasi sila eh. ;p
